Obiettivi
The strategic objective of the PIT "MONVISO: l'Uomo e le territoire" is to promote sustainable development in the Monviso area and to improve the quality of life of the populations by enhancing the existing relations between the people and the territory.

PIT therefore is the strategy identified by the two Parks to help them jointly create an effective model for the enhancement and development of the territory, with the intent of improving the quality of the life of the people who live in, visit or simply travel through the area.

This objective is pursued on the one hand through an integrated strategy of collaboration, cooperation and knowledge sharing which, along in time, can create a feeling of belonging on the part of the local populations and one of recognition of the territorial identity among tourists.

On the other hand, the objective is pursued by supplying the inhabitants and the visitors in the area with innovative tools to allow them to learn about the many local resources and their value. Six are the PIT projects for the pursuit and the achievement of the objectives described above:

1.
Risorsa Monviso. The project aims at safeguarding nature, the landscape, the environment in the Parco del Po cuneese and in the Parc naturel régional du Queyras, two protected cross-border areas affected by strong anthropic pressures, by designing and developing new relations between the people and the territory in view of creating environmental, social and economic sustainability.

2.
SlowTourisme. The general aim of the project is the promotion of slow, sustainable tourism in the cross-border area. SlowTourisme is therefore useful in diversifying and deseasonalizing the local tourist offer and at the same time promoting a harmonious management of the territories.

3.
Cultura des Hautes terres. The prime aim of the project is to strengthen the community identity and enhance the mutual knowledge, on the part of the Italian and French local populations, of PIT MONVISO. The project foresees positive impacts (and this is certainly not neglectable) in the creation and preservation of employment opportunities thanks to an innovative cross-border approach to culture;

4.
Le Montagne produit Qualità. The global objective of the project is the enhancement of quality food and agricultural produce, this being an important resource for the development of the territory. In particular, the project intends to define and develop policies and tools capable of sustaining local produce, hence local producers;

5.
Savoir Legno. The main objective of the project is to create and implement a cross-border production system in the field of wood-construction-furniture in the intent of achieving sustainable development for the rural economies of the territories involved;

6.
Cyclo-territorio. The general objective of the project is to create an integrated cycling offer for tourists in the cross-border area, capable of enhancing and promoting local products and resources.
